# Furnicraft, pay back my Money!!!

Good day.

My wife and I paid a deposit and made a few payments for a bed we wanted to purchase for our daughter.

A few months ago, we decided to cancel the transaction and opt for a refund. Since then, it's been problem after problem and excuses after excuses.

The first call that I received after I went to the store in Paarl where the transactions were made, and the lady I spoke to telephonically, was the same lady I spoke to in person earlier the day. She called me back to confirm the amounts that we already paid towards the bed for our daughter. The amount she gave me was R5000.00,that meant that we are suppose to get that amount back, minus 10% for some sort of handling fee.

I went back the next week because to make the necessary arrangements to get our refund, but all of a sudden the amount we paid according to the shop assistant, was just R4000.00 and no longer R5000.00.

Unfortunately I didn't have all my receipts at the time, but I only had the one receipt of one of the payments we made, which was a manual receipt and not generated by the computer but written in their receipt book and the original copy was given to me.

At first they couldn't locate any of our payments, but after an extensive search, it was found. The way they handled things and blamed people working in the store previously, really made them look unprofessional and unorganized.

Finally after a few weeks when I went back to the store, they told me that they can see the payments on their system and they can see that the first payment we made was an amount of R3000.00.

They requested us to get an affidavit from the police station, stating that we paid that amounts. We were thinking by ourselves, "are these people stupid or for real. They can see that we made the payments on their system and they confirmed that the payments are reflecting, but now they want an affidavit as well."

On Sa****ay, 28 May 2016, my wife and I went to the police station, got the affidavit and gave it to them on the same day.

Up until today, we are still struggling to get our money. I don't know what kind of people are in charge or whether this is their MO to operate like this, but I've never seen or experience any kind of service from the other good, professional stores. They are clearly amateurs and the way they are handling things are a clear indication that they're making it as difficult as possible to return or refund our money.

I went back to the store two weeks ago, after I talked their head office on ( ********** ) and asked them what the hold up was, so the lady I spoke to said that they haven't received any affidavit and they started the blame game saying that the store haven't forwarded the affidavit.

I went back to the store so the lady told me that she forwarded the affidavit to the relevant people at their head office and she asked me if she could call me within the next hour. Every time I asked her to put me through to their head office, she has some sort of an excuse not to do so. She never called that day, but called the next day to inform me that they were going to give me back my money, in cash. I thought to myself that I've never seen such idiots, because that was what I have suggested on numerous occasions, because paying with a debit card is basically the same as paying with cash.

I visited the store on Friday, 17 June 2016, so the lady in store said that they don't have that amount of cash in the store, but she will see if she can pay out the amount to me by somewhere the following week, which is this week. I felt that this was totally unacceptable. Why must I wait till they have enough money to pay out my money? Don't they accounts to withdraw money from and this is not my problem, I want my money, I thought. The way the handle this matter, was and is unacceptable and very unprofessional and their head office are aware if it, but just as useless, because all the instructions came from them.

This morning, 20 June 2016, I called Furnicraft's head office again, and explained my situation to a lady called Lauren, but she said she will give the message to the relevant person. She called back, but this time I had to go to the bank and get proof of the account. Again I thought to myself, these people are even bigger idiots than I thought, because they can see from which account the payments came from. They tried there level best to make it as difficult as possible to give back the money my wife and I paid thus far.

I had to go and pick my wife up from work, and then took her to the bank to get the proof. I've spent a lot of money driving up and down to these unprofessional people.

I went back to the Furnicraft store in the Rembrandt Mall in Paarl, gave the proof of banking details and the receipt I had. Now they say that they going to charge banking fees as well. I thought, WHAT? ********...

After all this trouble, this woman now tells me that they will only be sending the proof of banking details through to their head office on Tuesday, 21 June 2016 or Wednesday 22 June 2016. I asked her why, so she said maybe she must go and deliver the proof of bank account document to her head office herself. I thought to myself, "why are these people in business? Haven't they heard of faxes, computers and emails?"

I called their head office again and spoke to Lauren, the same lady I spoke to earlier, and asked to speak to a manager or someone in charge, but she wanted to know why I wanted to speak to a manager before she put me through, so I asked her why do I have to wait so long for to get my refund, and why will they only be starting with the transaction/process of paying back my money tomorrow, 21 June 2016, and not today? She rep**** that they have to have the original document in their possession. I asked her, why can't the lady that works for you just confirm the details plus we paid the deposit of R3000.00 with a debit card, so just do a reversal. These people's level of stupidity really amazed me.

She finally put me through or pretended to transfer the call but no one took the call, and they didn't even bothered calling back and they have my number.

I would definitely never do business with them again and would advise everybody else out there to think twice before they do.

I checked my bank account earlier today, 24 June 2016 and there were still no sign of our refund. I the number ********** again this morning at about 08:22 and spoke to Lauren and informed her about this. Up til now, 10:14, no one even came back to me with any explanation or update.

What should I do? Should I take the law into my own hands and come at you with all I have in the only way that you might take me seriously, because I have no more patients for Furnicraft's incompetence and don't care attitude.

Please note: Although this problem occurred at Furnicraft in Paarl ( ********** ), their head office ( ********** ) was/is also useless.

Regards
