Funnell Cars absolutely terrible service
Funnell Cars has a 3 stage vehicle sales technique. 1.) Excellent service getting you the proforma even though the initial proforma is for more than the vehicle sales amount. 2.) Once the money reflects in their account, that's it all service goes out of the window, they are incapable of keeping you apprised of the happenings surrounding collection of the vehicle, furthermore they don't know whats going on with your vehicle, they will tell you one thing and that parts are to be arriving from the manufacturer on Tuesday, that Thursday the parts hadn't been ordered and had absolutely nothing to do with what they had told me (i.e. I was advised that the brakes were being replaced that Thursday afternoon they took me to their repairer, the repairer advised that they were still looking for a lower control arm inner bush). 3.) They are incapable of punctuality, upon purchase they were advised of when collection would need to take place (as I the purchaser traveled 6 hours for collection whilst attending to other business a couple km away) and yet the vehicle was not ready, and to make matters better they did not tighten the left front wheel which I ended up loosing around 3 blocks away from their repairer causing major damage to the left front of the car (Fender, brake disc, bumper, sill, caliper, hub, wheel) from which the vehicle was due to be ready the following day at 10:30 in order to return (i.e. replace hub and get the car to a driving point and a safe driving point). Lets just say the car was not ready, and was not ready on time, the vehicle was only ready at around 16:00.
Wait it gets even better, Funnell Cars advise that they will cover cost of repair, further they produce a letter stating that they intend to pay for the entire repair. Some time had been taken to acquire the quotes to repair, everything had been submitted to Funnell Cars. Point of contact was the manager.
The Manager of Funnell Pinetown in an email advises that payment for the repair will be paid in 4-5 days, the funnell cars Dealer Prinicipal. Further the manager advises that all things have been cleared by his Boss (i.e. Dealer Principal). On the 5th working day a mail was sent and in the return mail the manager now advises that the dealer principal is on a trip. The dealer Principal was on his way to Isle of Man TT, and was fully aware of his trip when the initial time line had been provided by Funnel Cars and was mentioned in the return mail to which the owner of the company was included after an attempted call to the owner on his personal line went unanswered. To the point of this mail sum 3 working days after this mail the excellent service continues and the matter has not been brought to a head.
Should you wish to have this level of service, and deceit be sure to visit the dealership in question. No doubt this level of service will extend to all branches.
