Horrible Experience with FUNDI Loan and Fundi Loan Cancellation

I receive the most horrible experience with FUNDI.

I had previously app**** for a loan for the sole purpose of registering at the University of the Free State in January 2020. I specifically asked the lady when will I receive a call or sms saying that the loan is approved or not. She said that I would be called or I will receive a SMS.

The registration period ends at the UFS, still I had not received a call or SMS and my UFS Account did not reflect the R3000 for registration. Fast forward when I receive my salary for February, I receive less than the normal amount. I check with Salaries and they say that there was a deduction of R761 from my salary. I immediately go to FUNDI to inquire about the deduction. They say my loan was approved hence the deduction now I am shocketh because I never got the notice. I ask how do I cancel the loan? They say that I should write a cancellation letter. I write the cancellation letter and dropped it off at UFS Bloemfontein FUNDI Offices.

Because I already received horrible service, I also send my letter to FUNDI via email. I had to call them also multiple times then a consultant tells me that i should edit my letter and sign it. He tells that I should also include the LOAN Reference number. I tell the guy that I never received communication that loan was approved never did I receive the reference amount or the amount that would be deducted from my account. He sends me the reference number saying that I must include it. I do that immediately, then I asked for feedback. He says that the reason that I did not get the message is because my number was captured wrong on the system and he changes my number. I get no reply from the consultant.

The following day I call to get feedback, I am told that my loan is in the process of being cancelled and I will have to pay an interest fee. Now I am literally boiling because I had immediately went there to cancel it and I wrote the right number on the form. The lady says I will have to pay the interest because my number is captured right on the system and I did not cancel in time. The lady is literally shouting at me.

I call today to inquire how far they are with cancelling the loan, I am told that the loan will be canceled once the University of the Free State pays them back the R3000 which was never paid into my account. AT this point, I am just really tired and exhausted with the customer service and genuinely have a feeling that I am being **********. What makes it even more sad is when I think about the number of people who go through this and they really are in need.

I did write a review on Facebook and my review was deleted.

I have never had such horrible service in my whole entire life. And at the rate which this is going, I would not be surprise if I get another deduction in March.

My loan reference L***.
