3 WEEKS NO SOLUTION

I went to the FUNDI office at UFS 3 weeks ago to apply for a book loan. The loan was approved timeously. However the staff at the FUNDI UFS office incorrectly captured the loan as a Tuition loan. I have been to the FUNDI UFS office 8 times in the last 2 weeks seeking a solution. Firstly they did not pick up their mistake and told me to repeatedly return the next day to activate my FUNDI card.

Only after the 4th visit to the office to the office did they bother to check and then pick up their mistake. After that they refused to fix their error with headoffice and instead instructed me to wait 7 days until the transfer is made then go to the Admin building. Wait in the long lines there and beg them to do me the favour of transfering the funds from my tuition to my student card so that I can buy books, I did that. 9 days after I received the confirmation sms the funds had STILL not been transfered to the university. I waited in ridiculous lines repeatedly with no solution.

Now I just went back to the FUNDi office and they are telling me that the payment will be processed in March. Meanwhile I am writing weekly Maths tests without a textbook having to beg and borrow like I was not aware I was going to be studying.

This is completely unacceptable. Firstly to be so careless when capturing applications. Secondly having seen their mistake they refused to fix their mistake. They decided it was better to send me to go and walk in the sun and wait in long lines while they relax in an airconditioned office refusing to fix their error.

Today their supervisor tells me that I must either wait until March or I must cancel the loan. She has made absolutely no effort to fix the error that her subordinates made and she failed to pick up in checking the applications.

Perhaps it is better to just go and apply at ABSA student loan where they have more competent staff who are interested in doing their job.
