FTS Safety - BATA Safety Boots

On 20-Dec-2018 my husband bought a pair of Bata Safety Boots (R1,349.89) from FTS Safety in Nandi Drive, Durban. My husband started wearing them to work on 7-Jan-2019 when he returned after leave. Today 8-Feb-2019 he notice that the sole was pulling away from the shoe. He went to FTS Safety to show them, expecting a replacement pair, or a refund at the very least. Instead he was accused of 'abusing' the shoes. He was told that the shoes should never get wet. If it rains, he should wear gumboots. He was told that under NO circumstances should the shoes EVER get wet, as "leather & water don't gel". Yes, he has used them when it rains, but the use is minimal, eg: walking from the car to the site office, or from home to the car, etc etc, he hasn't walked through puddles, or stood in the rain for extended periods of time. At no stage have the shoes ever been submerged in water. Given that the shoes have only been worn for a month, I see NO reason why these shoes are not immediately replaced! **********
