Be careful about paying a deposit!

I needed some essential work done to my boundary wall during lockdown last year. I duly paid a deposit, but when it came to doing the work they used excuse after excuse not to commence work. I was obliged to employ another Contractor who did the work without incident. I was promised the return of my deposit from FSH but to date have received nothing.
