What happened to customer service?????

Had a very bad experience this morning 14.04.22 at 07h10am , had been to 2 service stations prior for basics to be done (No petrol) and was rejected as the air pressure pumps were not working, so i ended up at Caltex Umhlanga Rocks. Not the shop!! The service station only!

1 helper was helping 2 cars but plenty of helpers just standing around and not assisting. A gentleman came over by the name TR......(not giving full name) said hello and i said hello and i continued to ask i just need to check my tyre pressure and water and oil that is it. I hate going to stations for this particular reason as i get attitude always! BP I never get attitudes and i think i need to keep to what i love. Feeling guilty to ask for a such a small thing to be done, and was ready to take out a R10.00 just for the help. He walked away from me back to the common room. Hesitated and chatted to friends on the way back 2 mins later , Helped the taxi briefly then came back to sort my tyre's out (did not ask what my tyre pressure amount was)- in the interim other helpers were staring at me obviously Mr TR..... was not happy helping me do basics to my car...another gentleman opened my bonnet and just stood and stared at me ... another helper then asked do i need assistance and i said , i think TR is helping me (By this stage i was very confused what was going on..) ....TR then looked and checked the oil chatting to the starer which was fine but continued to tell the standing helper behind the bonnet something about my oil..... i felt like i should not of been there. He closed my bonnet and came around and said all is fine and i asked is everything ok? Is there a problem? I'm feeling like there is attitude here..... by this stage, i felt very uneasy!

He continued to say no problem no attitude here but with attitude all over his face....I took my wallet out and i said to him i have a tip R 10.00 to say thank you.... Blatantly said to me with attitude "I don't want your money , we get paid here!" and walked away.... I taxied out of the garage with my tail between my legs. Saddened!! angry!!!

What has happened to customer service ????? yes its the second day of chaos in the city... But we all need to try and help each other.... I work in a shop front part time at minimum wage 11 hour shifts 60 km from home , and i still put on a smile and help customers with joy and care in my shop in Umhlanga Rocks. Because i love what i do... Everybody is going through terrible times and just giving a little happiness can go a loooooong way for a person that might be needing it.......... This post does'nt even deserve a 1 star.....but had to give 1 to post this.:(
