I am writing this to tell all of you that is disappointed and frustrated that there is hope.
I app**** for expungement in April 2019. Countless emails, phone calls even a visit to their offices in Pretoria with no success.
So in August 2020 , I decided to go apply for clearance and follow the process with the DOJ. To my surprise when I picked up my clearance end of September there was no record. Two weeks later I received an email from Fresh Start with the official document of the SAPS that the record was expunged.
So yes, they most definitely do not keep within the timelines advertised, but in the end they did deliver.
So I pray that this will be the case for all of you. I do understand the frustration and disappointment . Just keep the faith.
If you are waiting for more than a year...maybe go do a clearance...you might have been expunged without being informed.
If not...then start the application with the DOJ.. yes it takes time but it is free and you only need to fill out a 3 page application form.
