Suppliers beware - Fresh Earth doesn't honour debt
Fresh Earth Food Store does not pay its accounts! We have sent numerous emails with attached invoices, statements and ledger accounts, and tried to get answers via telephone. Initially, their creditors clerk tried every delay tactic in the book, eventually forcing us to open an additional 30-day account for the Delta store and present two sets of documents. After 5 months, the Delta branch invoice was settled, but 8 months on, we’re still waiting for the Emmarentia invoice to be paid! Last year, we had two invoices that had taken almost two years to be paid!!! Due to demand for our products from customers that resulted in them wanting to order again, I could insist that they settle their debt first. Matthew (the owner) is a great guy, and because I had been assured by him that this had been a massive oversight, I supp**** them again in good faith. Unfortunately, my trust was completely misplaced. It seems that the staff who work with creditors do not have the same scruples, so I would suggest that anyone who is considering supplying Fresh Earth Food Store be extremely careful, and that they insist on payment in advance! When you have already paid your supplier in the U.S.A., plus the considerable shipping costs and Import Duties on the products, it’s particularly annoying to know that your products have flown off their shelves, and that the income from those sales has contributed to paying other suppliers who either shout louder, or whose products they absolutely cannot afford to be without.
I do apologize for the back and forth and lack of communication. We understand the frustration. The accounts team will be in touch with you in the morning - we have escalated the matter.
Thank you.
The Fresh Earth Team.
