Freedom life shame

So my mom and i had a funeral policy taken out by frredom life, that is payable by shoprite or checkers, this was taken out in 2016 and when it was taken out my mom used my number due to the fact that she didnt have a smartphone, whrn the policy was taken out the premiums was 29.99 a month for the first 30 months thereafter and increase of 5.01 took place which was not a problen, then she called in after the policy was active to add a beneficiary and added her husband via ussd mode. 2 month back freedom life called in order to varify her personal details, this was done, and sms was received stating an updated document will be sent but the 3 days down the line another sms was sent saying they decided to cancel the policy and will be returning all payments. The reason she could not varify her beneficiary which was did as i was there when they called.. My guess they realised that she was under qouted with the policy and this is how they get rid of their clients.
