Terminated my contract and medical aid

I was employed by [URL Removed] in cape town. A life insurance company. During training probation, a Liberty Life broker approached us for medical aid which was compulsory. I app**** and filled in medical application form for Liberty Bona Plus Medical scheme on the 01/05/2012 (Membership number ***). <br> <br> My contract got terminated on the 22/05/2012 and during that same day I was Admitted at N1 hospital for severe stomach pains etc. Hospital accepted me and admitted me and I was discharged on the 25/05/2012. <br> <br> On the same day, my employer Terminated my medical benefits.<br> <br> Now after 3 Years, my hospital bill is still <br> R16994.14 because the medical aid failed to inform the hospital my medical aid is suspended. If Liberty medical scheme at least informed them I would have gone to a local government hospital which weren't be a problem. Now I'm responsible for the full payment and have a judgement against my name. <br> <br> Why didn't Liberty Life Inform the Hospital that my medical aid is terminated? Why did they still give authorization?<br> <br> On the 02/08/2012 Ilhaam from Liberty medical scheme was contacted (***) and indicated it will be paid as it was the employers responsibility.
