Cancelled Debit Order

We decided to take life cover with [URL Removed] They phoned us last week and gave us a quote. We had unforseen financial difficulties and decided to cancel the policy for now, and then join in the new year. We phoned them and said we want to cancel the policy. The operator told us to send an e-mail on Monday the 28/09/2015 and the policy will be cancelled within 48 hr. We send the email on the 28th and got a reply back that they received our request. Today the debit order went off for almost R1000.00. When I phoned them, the lady told us we had to send through a request 2 weeks ago. We didn't even get a quote from them 2 weeks ago. This is unacceptable. The lady from the call centre told me at least I can \enjoy"the policy for this month. MAM"
