beware of promises

We were given France's name by someone who had used him before and highly recommended him, however it has been a total nightmare. He came out promptly to the property and collected the 12 dinning room chairs and my daughters rocking chair. We paid him 50% deposit. France committed to having the job completed within 2 weeks which we were excited about because my daughter was immigrating to Australia and need to put her rocking chair into storage for transportation to Australia. <br> The 2 weeks became 4 weeks and he delivered her rocking chair on the day she was packing up, so we have not even seen if it was done correctly.<br> My 12 dinning room chairs were then delivered 4 weeks later in December after many phone calls. When they were dropped off they were wrapped and silly me paid him his balance prior to checking them.<br> <br> They have been upholstered like an amateur, 4 of the chair are in a different huge of the fabric.<br> I have called France and he continually promises to come and repair. Sets up dates and never shows. Now he does not take my calls, and has blocked my cell and home numbers. I cannot get hold of him and dont have dinning room chairs that are presentable. Beware people
