Do not support FPH Fabrication

I was referred to the owner of this company by a reputable company which manufacturers security gates, to quote me on a custom-made gate I required, of which I subsequently received the quote. A few weeks later, I contacted the owner to quote me for burglar bars on my bathroom window. He arrived at my apartment on Tuesday 11 January 2022 without wearing a face mask!!!

He then entered as he were and advised me that he does a face mask when taking measurements as it was difficult to breathe. I honestly don't know how taking measurements would not allow you to breathe with a mask on when you're not doing any work and what has that got to do with not walking around with a mask on? He took the measurements and commented, "I drove all this way for such a small window?". I then reiterated that I already confirmed on the telephone that it was for a window and he had agreed to come out based on that.

Monday 17 January 2022, he was meant to install the burglar bars. He texts me and does not even bother calling, stating that he is sorry for messing me around but he can install the next day which was Tuesday. I informed him that I deliberately scheduled a carpenter to do work on Tuesday to avoid them clashing as both jobs were for the bathroom and this was a safety risk due to covid protocols. The owner and I had then agreed for 9am on Tuesday as he mentioned it was a half hour job.

I then message him, "please use a face mask as I am not comfortable with people walking around in my home without one", to which he rep****, "please cancel this job as I am not comfortable working for you".

How is he not comfortable working for me when all I requested is what we are mandated by LAW to do, wear face masks to protect ourselves and everyone else? What was wrong with my request? I will not tolerate someone walking into my home and basically telling me how I should live my life - basically risk and expose my health to theirs.

To me, this experience dealing with this individual as an owner was unprofessional and extremely rude! You cannot agree to work and then insult the client that that is all you drove out for.

If there were negative stars here, that is what is attitude deserves!!!
