Best Veterinary care

Review for FOURWAYS VETERINARY HOSPITAL - DR ESTEE VAN ZYL AND HER TEAM. In March 2021 our fur baby Peanut unfortunately had a botched anaesthetic performed by a veterinary clinic that we had been going to for years. Peanut is a Yorkie, she went in for a "minor removal of 3 small lumps and to have her teeth cleaned". I was called and told that "something happened" and she went into anaphalactic shock. That she had been "overloaded with fluids and medications" to get her right but that besides the severe swelling, she would be ok...... she wasn't!! 3 days later we rushed her back because she wasn't breathing properly. We were told that they would keep her overnight but the outcome did not look good. Following day, we got a call to say there was nothing they could do and they "weren't equipped" to save her. If we wanted to do anything, we would need to transfer her to Fourways Veterinary Hospital. Our fur babies are our babies and I would sell my car to save them but thankfully we have been members of Oneplan Pet Insurance for many years so we rushed Peanut through. Fourways, the staff right from reception, the nurses and majority of the Doctors are amazing. However the BEST Vet of all is and always will be Dr Estee Van Zyl! She took over Peanuts case when we refused to have her euthanized because she is our little girl and we knew that besides all of the terrible injuries she had sustained from the previous veterinary clinic, she still had life in her eyes when she looked at us. Dr Estee believed everything we told her and from then and change of treatment, Peanut started to improve. The care, love and genuine kindness that came from all of the people involved in caring for her and bringing her back to health was and still is completely outstanding! No one could ask for better care! Peanut was in ICU with them for 2 weeks and many times it was "touch and go" but they pulled her through!!!! A year down the line and we took Peanut back yesterday for a checkup and more tests, its the first vet that we have EVER been to that Peanut was happy to see Dr Estee and everyone at Reception! Glory to GOD, all her tests came back with good results and Greg at reception didn't want us to leave before he "said hello to Peanut"!!! To everyone involved in getting our Peanut back to where she is... Its been a long road, you've seen Riaan and I laugh... and cry, many, many times... We would just like to thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for believing us, for believing in Peanut for seeing what we saw in her and for not just wanting to "put her down" and for caring for "the patient" before caring for the money!! Yes, its cost a lot to get us here but Dr Estee, you believed in us and everything has worked out for everyone. May you ALL, forever be blessed for the kindness and love that you showed to all of us and for making our Peanut better. Forever grateful - Peanut, Riaan and Dawn Coetzee.
