I bought a Renault Kwid(2019 model) in middle February 2020 from Renault Fourways(salesman Stay Ndlovu) whereby I made it very clear that I am looking for a reliable car as my husband passed away and I am driving with 2 little ones daily to school and back.
On 14 November I started experiencing problems with the car as one of the dash lights came on. I immediatly phoned Renault Fourways where the mechanic made an appointment for the ecelerator cable to be replaced on Tuesday 17 November. I also asked them to check the left front side of the car as it was making a noise whenever I turned and that it was getting worse daily. Their service manager Coeni Brits assisted me and asked Courtney to place an order with warranty for a driving shaft.
They said that they cannot assist me with a loan car and was then told that Courtney will contact me as to when I can bring in the car.
By 19th November I havent had any feedback from them and was starting to get worried as I no longer felt safe driving the car. The shatter on steering wheel became worse aswell as the noise while driving. I tried contacting Renault fourways again to no avail on 20th November.
After contacting them the 4th time Stay phoned me back and said that it is not his devision( keeping in mind the fowl language used) I then spoke to Courtney whereby she said that she is awaiting warranty, I explained that I am seriously concerned and need a car to drive as I cannot do without one especially having 2 little ones where any emergency can take place any time of day. She said that she cannot assist me and that she is awaiting warranty to come back to her. She also pointed out that if I was to get in an accident that warranty would not pay out.
What am I left to do? I did not get service from Renault Fourways which can lead to life threatening circumstances? Is Cars not supposed to uphold safety standards for all? Is it not a dealerships responsibility to make sure that their client is looked after?
I was left no choice but to take the car to Renault Clearwater where they immediatly gave me assistance. Their service Manager (Johan) declared the car in a critical condition and was I was advised that it is not at all safe to drive. They phoned Fourways to get all the relevant info to try and assist me as best possible but only to find that the left front control arm aswell as cv boot has already been worked on. They said that they can no longer work on the car and that the car needs to be taken back to Renault Fourways to be repaired. They are still awaiting Fourways to get back to them.
I was left without a vehicle, which left me with dire consequences!!!! How am I to pay my car If I cannot go to work? This was a serious problem but taken much to lightly by Renault Fourways causing me to lose all faith in Renault. Coenie Brits advised Renault Clearwater to try and assist me or charge me accordingly to fix my car on my own expense? I am a woman with no knowledge regarding engines etc and bought the car like this. After doing some research I came upon invoices showing that the car has indeed been in an accident and even have the invoice showing the driving shaft that was replaced. Renault Fourways said that I chose to take the car to Renault Clearwater and that they can no longer assist me. The car was in a non driving condition and they were not willing to help. After having to ask help from my parents in getting the car fixed, as I cannot go without a car( a month later: from 17 November 2020 to 21 December 2020) I recieve an email from Coenie Brits asking how he can assist me in repairing my vehicle, that I must bring in the vehicle to Renault Fourways? Seriously, this dealership has no client service!!!!!
