Stale Swiss roll

I went to Fournos bakery yesterday morning and bought Swiss roll but before I took it, I asked the guy that was serving me if the Swiss roll was fresh \he said yeeeessss its fresh"but when we cut it it was stale stale stale and tastes blend"
