FOURNOS - What the Heck???
I have 2 issues: On Sunday 2 April 2018 we went to have lunch at Fournos Mall of the South. We have previously had the buffet at R60 per plate and were very happy about it. However, at 11h15 it was not ready yet so we went shopping first. When we came back, the lady behind the counter [at 12h50] said that she would need to weigh the food. This is 'standard practice' according to her on Sundays / Public holidays. We NEVER eat there except on a Sunday so this took us by surprise. I had about 3 tables****s of beef with 3 small servings of salad and it came to over R84 - I told her that is a rip-off and she weighed it under vegetables and it still came to R81. My daughter had a chicken fillet, a bit of rice and coleslaw and this was R58! I told our waitress I am not happy. She just shook her head and said that is what they do. As we were starving at this time, we took the food, ate it and left hungry and disgusted. As we left, I asked the manager whether this is a joke and he said they had always done it that way. This is not true. We have been there on 3 other occasions and we never paid per weight - always per plate.
As we left, I bought a Rye Bread packaged in plastic. On Monday I wanted to make sandwiches for us. When I opened the bread, it was moldy. I threw it in the bin. There is a picture of it on Facebook.
You have lost customers in us - loyal customers who used to frequent your store at Mall of the South every Sunday. We will not return.
