Poor service and lies
I wish to place on record the poor service I received from Fosters Toyota. I expressed interest in a 2010, Toyota Fortuner. The vehicle was brought to my home for viewing by Thembinkosi Nxumalo on 20/9/2019. I have a vehicle to trade in , he viewed my Jeep Compass , took pictures and sent it onto his manager. Whilst he was still at my house, he gave my son a go ahead on a price of R 110 000. Upon receiving this confirmation I expressed a firm interest. Thembinkosi Nxumalo called my son, on Friday 20/9/2019 late afternoon confirming the trade value. During the course of the week, after the public holiday I made contact with Thembinkosi Nxumalo on 27th . I wanted to discuss as to how I want to structure the deal . He advised that he was not in office and back on 30/9/2019. Told me to come into the dealership and that his manager will also be back from leave. On 30/9/2019 I went in as per my appointment. At the same time another buyer was there for a double cab. I opted to wait for Thembinkosi despite been asked to be assisted by all the other sales consultants and not knowing by Kent (manager) as well. I waited very patiently for two and a half hours. After the buyers of the double cab left, Thembinkosi tried to assist me. The system was offline so he could not generate the otp. I was there with the Jeep. He had the nerve to lie to me that his manager was only coming in later that afternoon. Not realizing that it was Kent that asked to assist me first. I wasted my time and was **** to. I asked Thembinkosi to e mail the otp to me and I left. On 30/9/2019 , I received his otp , with a note saying that the trade in price is not on the otp, because the vehicle still need to be inspected. I took it that it was a done deal on the trade in value after two confirmations. On 1/10/2019 I called Kent , explained my experience to him. He confirmed and acknowledged that he was the gentleman that offered me coffee or water. He confirmed that he was there all day. He listened to what I had to say and apologized. Kent agreed to come out and do the final valuation at my sons workplace. He called my son and he uses the Jeep. My son informed me that Kent called him and that he will call back to confirm an appointment. That was the last communication and so much for Kent. Today is 4/10/2019 and we have not moved.
So I can safely take it that empty promises, lies, ect are Fosters Toyota's values and mission.
I am disappointed to be treated in this manner. If Kent and Thembinkosi feel that my deal is 'mickey mouse' , they must let me know. I have not had one call from Thembinkosi since, but he was eager to push me for the R 10 000 holding deposit. I was on the verge of making the eft before receiving the otp. On receiving the otp I decided to hold on as my deal was going to be trade in, with the balance as eft. My concern was that if the trade in price was not going to be R 110000, I would have a problem. My cash funds are not ready available, I had to get them released.
For me Fosters Toyota service suck, they only chase big deals and am hugely disappointed in them. I wish to place this on record as I feel that Toyota's name is dragged around which is not fair.
Regards
Mohamed
