Unpleasant client experience at Fossil Clearwater Mall

I own several Fossil watches and other products. I have a rose gold watch which I had worn twice before the battery stopped working. When I took it in to get a new battery, I was told that the watch appeared to need a service. On hearing this, I contacted Fossil Clearwater Mall and spoke to a lady named Louisa, with an overview of the situation. She asked me to bring the watch in for her to take a look. I went into the store yesterday afternoon (11/03) and asked for her by name having spoken to her regarding this matter. She appeared to immediately look irritated to have been specifically requested and then mentioned that she did not recall our conversation. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, I retold the story. Instead of checking the watch, she immediately started tapping away at the store computer. When I enquired about what was happening, I was told that she was booking the watch in for a service which would cost a minimum of R600. Whilst standing at the computer with her, I noticed another watch at the till which did not appear to be brand new. On noticing this, I simply asked whether a watch had ever been misplaced during a service in the past. She irritatedly asked me how that would occur? I responded by stating that it was merely a question sparked by the used watch laying on the counter without documentation. Genuinely surprised by her attitude I decided to be quiet whilst she proceeded with doing whatever she was doing on the computer. A minute or so later, my sister who was waiting for me joined me. Both of us were watching Louisa put details into the computer without checking or advising us of what she was doing. I then noticed she was punching into the computer that there were scratches on the band, backing and glass of my watch. At that point I took a closer look at my watch and verified that there wasn't a single scratch on the glass screen. My sister also looked at it and stated the same. When I asked Louisa to amend the detail on the computer, she simply stated that there are scratches and refused to change the detail. I then kindly asked her if she could show us the scratches to which she just rolled her eyes and once again stated that it is scratched making no attempt to show us the scratches that were clearly only visible to her. It became apparent that if my watch which I had only worn twice returned back from the service with scratches on the glass, I would be told that it was sent in that way. At that point my sister asked me if I was sure I wanted to proceed to which I stated I would prefer to take my watch elsewhere. Louisa was completely unapologetic and infact proceeded to tell us off. And to make things worse, as we were leaving the store was shouting to tell the other staff that we were being difficult, etc.. I can assure you that I will never purchase another Fossil product in the future given the attitude of this staff member and my unpleasant experience. She was completely off putting and a ********** representation of the Fossil brand. I would urge you to look into the attitude of your client facing staff. To finish my story, I thereafter took my watch to Cajees in the Mall who confirmed that was not a single scratch on the glass screen of my watch and proceeded to fix my watch within 15 minutes at a cost of R75.
