Poor customer service and quality

On 28 December 2016, I purchased a watch (ES3227) at the Fossil Outlet, Unit D9 Access Park, 81 Doncaster Road, Kenilworth, Cape Town, 7708 for R1799-40. I wore the watch on one or two occasions and subsequently found that it was not working. On 29 April 2017, I went back to the same store and was told by the sales personnel that the battery had to be replaced. I was astonished as the watch had not been in my possession for even six months. I was also informed that I would have to pay R70-00 for the battery as the guarantee did not cover this. The battery was replaced and when I was putting the watch back into my handbag I found that the band on the one side had come undone.

This shocked me and I immediately reported it to the salesperson. She was rather rude claiming that I must have caused the problem when I was putting the watch on. I then showed her that I was wearing another watch. She then fixed it – not with a clip for such a watch but with a clip from a leather strap. I left the store and about an hour later, found that the watch was again not working. I am justifiably aggrieved for the following reasons:

1. The price I paid.

2. The amount of use I got from the watch.

3. The attitude of the sales personnel.
