Horrible service at Fossil Menlyn

I bought a Jacqueline watch (ES3737) last year (2015) August. A year and one month later the battery went flat and so I took it to Fossil Menlyn to get a new battery. The (seemingly clueless) staff members took my watch to the back of the store and inserted a new battery. When the staff member gave the watch back to me it was working again, but she informed me that the crown is now stuck and that she can't set the time right. Note: even though the battery was dead prior to this, the crown was still fine - it could pull out and turn with no problem. This leads me to believe that they messed the crown up when they replaced the battery..

The staff member was VERY keen to send the watch right away to CT to have the crown repaired.. but she couldn't say how much it would cost..

I immediately thought about whether my watch was still under warranty - then I would gladly sent it to CT to be repaired. But when I mentioned the word 'warranty' she said that the warranty only applies to the mechanisms inside the watch (uhm..is the dail not part of the inside?...). I ended up leaving because I wanted to have a look at the warranty booklet at home first before deciding to sent my watch anywhere.

Upon returning home I saw that the warranty booklet specifies that the dail is part of the components which is under warranty. I think it's utterly pathetic that the staff members damaged my watch whilst performing the simple task of replacing the battery and that they do not know the warranty regulations of the products THEY are selling.
