Fossil Watch - Faulty Workmenship or bad manufacture.

Having owned a fossil watch already I wanted as a birthday present from my wife to get another in a similar style ... We settled on a CM3030 at R 3500 and was surprised to be offered a trade in . I am sorry that I did the trade in as the watch that we purchased from the beginning gave problems . The crown had a sharp edge which at first manifested its self by me putting the watch on in the morning and finding the time had changed as the crown was in the time change mode and I have the habit of finding the most comfortable position by rolling the watch around my wrist A couple of times it didn't move the time but I had a small cut where the crown had pierced my skin so a trip to the Pavilion store and I was told that the crown was not a guaranteed part of the watch . I said that I had not damaged the watch and it should be under guarantee especially as it was less than a month old . The manager said they would send it back to Cape Town and it would take six to eight weeks . The store phoned in eight weeks and I drove out to get my watch . Less than a month later I had another issue with the crown as it was missing . I remembered taking off a tee shirt and snagging the watch but didn't realise the crown had caught in the shirt and come right out . Again a trip to the store and again being informed the crown was not guaranteed . I argued that it must be as the crown was the work that was carried out a few weeks earlier . Eight weeks later I received my watch back and again no charge ... Three weeks later and I noticed that the date was wrong and tried to reset it and gently prised the crown out to have it come out about ten millimetre and again a trip to the store this time I enquired about the fact that I had only owned the watch for seven and a half months and (after the return this time) had it in my possession two months the rest of the time it has been in the possession of Fossil Cape Town or travelling between the cities My question is, should my watch have an extended guarantee or be replaced altogether. I await your response.
