Phone ****** from handbag at Forever 21

<p>was at Forever 21 last week Friday (11 August 2017) between 17:30 and 18:30 and someone stole my phone from my hand bag. I only realised my phone was missing when I went to the fitting room at the shop to try a few items I had on me. As soon as I realised my phone was not in my handbag, I took out my other phone from the same handbag and called the phone to realise it was already switched off. I then informed the lady that was assisting me at the fitting room, who then asked me what shop I was at before I went to Forever 21. When I told her I was at Woolworths she then quickly told me to go back there to see I have not forgotten my phone there or not. Without wasting anytime, I went back to Woolworths to report the matter and Woolworths security was happy to take me through their store camera footage which confirmed that I left the store with the phone in my handbag.</p> <p>I then went back to Forever 21 and spoke to a guy (Phumlani) who then suggested we go to the back to go through their store camera footage. He even confirmed that he remembers seeing me on the floor but he thinks the section I was at doesnt have survallance on. This I found very surprising because I could see a camera at the section I was at and when I asked him, he said the cameras are there but there is no footage. He then only showed me footage of the sections I never went to which i found to be not so useful since I never went there. He then said he couldnt help me further but will take my cellphone number in case something emerges. I was in shock more so to think a big retail store like Forever 21 situated at such a big mall like Mall of Africa, would have cameras that are not working. Honestly speaking, I didnt buy into that, I have a feeling the employees on the floor know exactly what happened to me and/or they are working with the culprits. Either that or one of them pick pocketed me.</p> <p>Further to my surprise, when I was at the Midrand Police Station reporting the matter, another lady came in also a victim at Mall of Africa; and her purse (with money), ID, Passport and other belongings had been taken from her handbag as well.</p> <p>When I was talking to people from Woolworths and Forever 21, it was indicated to me that these things happen a lot lately at Mall of Africa. So my question again would be, if this is well known why would the cameras at Forever 21 be not working? and what majors are put into place at Mall of Africa to protect consumers like myself. I was so ****ed and disappointed and would tell all my family and friends to never set foot at Forever 21 nor Mall of Africa!!!!</p>
