Watch out for Ranger 2.2 Auto - Deffective Gearbox!

My recently purchased ranger 2.2 auto has a gearbox problem which Ford is seemingly unable to fix. The gearbox slips in

3rd gear and sometimes 4th. The vehicle has been with Ford Centurion, Ford William Nichol and Ford Sandton for a gearbox

replacement, software download and gearbox oil top-up.

Gearbox changes are erratic as if the gearbox has difficulty deciding what gear to select, especially when depressing the

accelerator hard or on inclines.

I have noticed when using manual for a while that the changes are smoother, but when using full auto again it returns to the

normal slipping.

Ford S.A’s website does not work when trying to lay a complaint or when trying to phone a machine states they are closed at

times.

Other Ford owners with the same models have complained about the same issue. Ford Gauteng's workshop manager admits

that he sold his Ford automatic and changed it to a manual

Cedric Lelong from Mazda Futy Santon who sold the vehicle to me (brand new) is unable to solve my complaint, hopefully someone else from Ford head office will step up and take responsibility.
