Dear Mr Jansen van Vuuren, I trust all is well, Kindly find the below official complaint regarding the vehicle purchased from you as follows: Vehicle Make and Model: Ford Transit Connect 1.0 Ecoboost Year: 2017 VIN : WFORXXWPGRGR67304 ENGIN : GR67304 COLOUR : White MM CODE : ********** 0 Number Plates: DPY 051 L Date of Delivery: Thursday 09 November 2017 As per my email below dated 12 November 2017 and your response dates 13 November 2017, kindly note that the vehicle had been towed on the evening of the 12 November 2017 to Ford Kempster Gezina, Pretoria North and has been at the dealership for four days already. I have not been able to use the vehicle for the purpose it was meant for in the last 4 working days. This is a significant inconvenience as the vehicle was meant for income generation. Details of the complaint and breakdown. The following were experienced with the vehicle just three (3) days after delivery of the vehicle. Regular loss of electricity as the radio goes on and off even when the vehicle is in motion. Frequent loss of electricity power when switching on the lights/hazards or flushing the lights even when the vehicle is in motion. The vehicle over-heats and cut power when travelling for longer distances When travelling at speeds above 100 km/h, the engine temperature approaches 120oC prompting a warning message to stop urgently The experience so far. On Saturday 11 November 2017 two days after taking delivery, I took the first long distance travel to Polokwane. Between Saturday and Sunday I had to stop 6 times on the free-way as a result of overheating and warning messages. Four of these stops were in a very unsafe place along the free-way. The impact Given that the vehicle was purchased for business purposes, the performance and status of the vehicle will make it impossible to reliably execute expected business activities efficiently and reliably and will have a negative impact on income which is expected to fund the purchase/instalment of the vehicle. Actions taken so far. Given the fact that the vehicle was overheating with temperatures up to 120oC, I could not drive the vehicle further to avoid damage to the engine. The vehicle had to be to towed to the nearest dealership. The dealership’s initial diagnosis, communicated to me telephonically, indicated no fault on the vehicle. I however insisted that they do further testing by driving the vehicle for longer distance. The dealership telephonically confirmed overheating. I am however waiting for the final written diagnosis report. Given that I am losing revenue, I reached out to you to find out of the possibility of a courtesy vehicle for me to continue with my business operations. I am still waiting for feedback from you. I further enquired with the dealership if they can assist with a courtesy vehicle and was informed there are no available vehicles they can assist me with. My insurance only provides an alternative vehicle during theft and accident and therefore I have no option to request assistance from them and I do not have the financial resources to hire out an alternative vehicle, especially considering that this vehicle had low mileage, is a 2017 model and therefore with the promise of being more reliable for business purpose. I kindly request assistance from you regarding: A short term solution to ensure I continue with my business operations as I am currently loosing revenue. A permanent resolution regarding the fact that the vehicle I have purchased is now confirmed to have had engine damage and is likely to be unreliable in the execution of the business activities. I trust you will be able to assist with a long lasting and permanent solution. Regards Shupu Phoshoko Date: 16 November 2017
