Unfair treatment and services
I am writing regarding the Ford ecosport 2016 model that I bought in 2017 December at one of the car dealership. In August 2020 I was doing my last service at Ford umngeni which they said it was full major service as the car warranty expired. On the 29th of September 2020 a warning engine light showed in my car and it started slacking and lost power. I took the car at ford umngeni for diagnostic and I was told that i will pay cash for diagnostic and I agree as they told me the service warranty has expired. They diagnose the problem and i was told the quotation will be R4700 and i questions the fact that the car recently had a major service in August how come they didn't pick this problem. I was told that damage can happen after the service. They changed the parts which they said they were damaged however the warning engine light didn't stop appearing and my service advisor told me they have to send back those parts i was quoted on because they were not the cause and they have called the specialist to check, the specialist couldn't find the problem and they called technician who also could not find a problem. The car spent a month without finding a problem up until they asked for another specialist who suggested that they must open bonnet and check wiring and they did but couldn't find a problem. Somehow they called me to say they fixed the problem and i took the car as they said they tested the car and the light is gone. I took the car and i was told on collection that i need to still pay R4700, when i asked Pearl who was the assistant for service advisor, she said that they changed parts so i need to pay for those parts, i asked her why she didn't inform me when she told me to pick up the car so that i come prepared, she said she was sorry, i then asked for my service advisor to clarify what he told me about parts being sent back and what i am paying for, he said he forgot to tell me that they didn't remove those part. I asked for the plugs they said they changed them as they were changed before I took the car to them and i had proof for that, and he said its ok they will give a discount for R700 and I should pay R4000, i paid and took the car, i drove less than 300km and the engine light came back and the same problem started again. I drove back to the dealership and i did not switch off the engine i showed the formen the light and I left the car with them, while waiting for signing documents, the technician guy who said he was fixing the car and suprised that nothing was eaten by rats as they saw rats poo and thought rats may have eaten some wiring, nothing, yet Portia told me that ignition coil was eaten by rats, and technician story, Pearl and Zamo stories were different and i started from there to lose trust. I requested my R4000 as my car was not fixed and this confusion on their stories not matching up. I only got my money back on the day they asked me to fetch the car. I reported the matter to Ford SA case no*** and case manager handling the case is Bisa. I told her all that happened and I told her what were my expectations. When Bisa did a follow up with Ford umngeni branch they told her the car was ready and they always gave her incorrect information about the car. I told Bisa that the reason I wanted my money back was job not done and not sure if they really changed those parts. I can pay for those parts only if they show me the ones removed, since they told Bisa they will remove the ignition coil pack i told her they should not but give me the one they said it was removed. Yes Bisa told them and they agree. After being told that the car was fixed i must come for collection, i told Bisa how i feel about this car now and how uncomfortable i am, explaining that I am still paying for the car and the mileage is only 91 500 km. She said i must go and collect the car cos they're going to charge me for storage if i don't collect it. When I went to fetch the car on that day the staff had a very bad attitude i even caught my service advisor gossiping about me trying to hide behind his computer. I was called in to the manager's office where the specialist explained to me that the car is not fixed, they have checked everything but couldn't find the problem and they suspect the computer box but that too does not guarantee it will fix the problem and the quote may be around R10000, the best option for me is to trade in the car. I told them i was in no position to buy another car and i was not planning to do so as it is still less than 100000km. I asked them what will i do now with the car that I am still paying for and I can't use it and no body to fix it. They said i will park it at home until I can afford to buy another car. I called Bisa the next day and I told her about what happened. She advised me to take it to another dealership, i told her that I am using the car for work purposes and already it has spent 7 weeks at this dealership and it wasn't fixed and I am behind with my bill and i don't have money to fix it. She said i must take it to umhlanga dealership and she has made arrangements and the courtesy car to use while awaiting for my car to be fixed. I took the car to umhlanga where she said she made arrangements. When I went there no one new about the booking Bisa was talking about and i had to book for the following week on Wednesday the 9th and I was told that no curtersy car available, i had to uber from the dealership to home as no public transport from the dealership to home. Bisa called to check if i have taken the car to a dealership i told her what happened and she said she will speak to the manager to arrange a car to use, but she didn't, i had to cancel all my work as i didn't have a car to use for work. On Friday I was told that they checked the car and they found the same problem that the initial dealer found and changed it but the problem still didn't stop and this time there was more, when I took the car from the first dealership i noticed that my gears were very stiff and I told Bisa about it. Now on this new quote they told me there's a problem on the gear, and this all added now to a quotation of R11300. I tried to call Bisa and dealership also tried to call her to give feedback but couldn't get hold of her. I sent email stating that the diagnostic still the same as the old one and more damage now, what difference will it make now cos it didn't solve the problem and i don't have R11000 to pay. No response from Bisa and i wanted to take the car back cos I couldn't afford to pay and the same quote didn't fix the problem. My service advisor (Joshua) told me i can't take the car as it is not in a position to be driven as this will cause damage to the engine. I had to borrow money cos Bisa was no where to be found and i can't take the car, and i am behind with my work and bill, I gave a go ahead on the quotation on the 11 th of December cos Joshua told me cut of time for ordering is 11h30 and its Friday and I needed to use the car urgently. I called on Monday 14th December i asked Joshua about the car he told me he is still waiting for the parts he will call me on Tuesday around 9h30 and update me. I tried to call call Bisa on Tuesday but she told the receptionist to read feedback she wrote as she was going to a meeting and she will call me later. I told receptionist why I called and how urgent I needed to speak to her. I was told they will email her. The service advisor never called me on Tuesday as he promised when I called on Thursday the 27th of December 2020, he became so rude when i asked him why he didn't call me as promised, he told me that there was nothing to call me for as he has not received the parts yet and I told and he told me they're still waiting for those parts they are coming from overseas he is going to get back to me around 10h30 and let me know when is the car going to be ready, when he called me at 10h30 he told me parts were only going to be available on the 4th of January 2021, i told him that I have accepted the quotation because I needed the car urgently and I am so behind with my work and you guys have no curtersy car. What should I do, he said he will contact me back, he is going to speak to his manager and see if they can arrange something, he didn't get back to me. I tried to call Bisa to give feedback but I was told she is due to call me today and she was busy with another call. Up until I wrote this review no one has contacted me from dealership or Bisa.
I believe what is the problem to my car is a manufacturer problem and kindly assist me on what I should do now, I am behind with all my monthly payments as this problem started 2 months ago and it's going to 3 months and no solution. Please help me.
