Service plan vs Maintenance plan??

I bought a Ranger from Ford BB Menlyn. My wife was with me. Buying a R400 000 vehicle with lots of extras, as well as taking out an extended service plan.

Now its time for my 40 000 km service and Im informed that my service plan does not cover front break pads, I needed to take out a maintenance plan for that. I called my wife and neither of us can recall that an additional plan was offered to us. I asked the guy multiple times I want the full package. Think about it... Why would I buy all these extras, and take an extended service plan and not a maintenance plan? That does not make any sense.

Buying an extended service plan means you dont want the immediate expense of maintaining your vehicle. I was under the impression that includes things such as break pads, this is why I took out the extended plan.

My car is currently at Ford Silver Lakes. I told them to continue the service, but not do the breaks until this is cleared up cause this is highly frustrating
