NON-EXISTENT FORD AFTER SALES SERVICE AND SUPPORT

I purchased a Ford Ranger Thunder from Ford CHM Dealership in Bosman Street Pretoria in February this year. I then discovered that the rear right hand side bin of the Ford Ranger has an indentation. This appears to be a factory fault which the dealership acknowledged.

in June 2021 and CMH requested that the bakkie be inspected. The fault was confirmed and CMH committed to resolving the matter. CMH also indicated that it would be best to replace the vehicle rather than repair as it was not feasible to repair.

I interacted with the salesman Adriaan van Vuuren, Juran Bekker and Jacques Claasen at CMH

Long bouts of silence from the dealership followed and my phone calls were not taken mostly. I was advised that the dealership was waiting for the Ford factory to assist with sorting this out as it is a factory fault. I have had to go to the dealership several times which is quite inconvenient as I live in Johannesburg.

On 8 Oct, I threatened to go to the Ford SA CEO - I got an immediate reaction from the dealership but it turned out to be another round of back and forth with no resolution. Following further emails, on 1 November in complete frustration, I sent an email to the Ford SA CEO Neale Hill, Hanno Botha whom I understand is responsible for customer care or client services and the Customer Care email. To date, I have had absolutely no response from either Neale Hill or Mr/Ms Botha - a woman called Karabo Khotleng has since been interacting with me as a result of the Customer Care link.

Ms Khotleng has sent me several emails which amount to no one at Ford taking accountability or responsibility for the issue - it took more than a week to unravel the PDI issue and since then the paint work on parts of the vehicle is now peeling.

It seems to me I got a Monday manufactured car and the PDI was also done on a Monday - Ford SA CEO and Hanno Botha are on a cycle of never ending Mondays and all of that amounts to the fact that I have a dud vehicle and Ford SA is busy kicking the ball around with no intention of scoring a goal.

I purchased the vehicle after driving a Toyota bakkie for years - Fords complete lack of after sales service is a good case for me to not ever purchase a Ford again and look at other options in the market.
