Next Gen Ford Ranger Wildtrak Poor Headlights
I recently purchased a brand new (2023) Next Gen Ford Ranger Wildtrak, my fourth Wildtrak in 5 years. All previous models had excellent headlights but this one is very poor and doesn't shine far enough on both high and low beams, it is actually a safety concern as you suddenly find yourself on a bend and have to brake hard. I contacted Ford SA after seeing several complaints about the headlights on FB. I was advised to take it to a dealer. In fact I took it to two dealers and the stock answer is "it is according to Ford specifications". On FB I found that several dealers were replacing the headlights on a number of this generation of Fords due to the same complaint that I have. Why is Ford changing headlights if they say there is nothing wrong? The headlights being according to Ford specifications doesn't mean anything when the user is having problems with the lights, I am complaining from a position of experience, my previous Wildtraks with LED headlights were not a problem at all. For a vehicle that costs over R800k, I believe Ford can do much more to accommodate their customers, unless Ford believes that they do not need repeat business to survive.
