New Next Gen Ford Wildtrak Complaint
03/05/2023 - Vehicle purchased as a new vehicle, upon my wife taking delivery of the vehicle she noted that the vehicle was badly scratched on the passenger side of the vehicle. My wife was not made aware of the damage to the vehicle and had to pick it up by herself. The dealership agreed to take the vehicle to an approved panel beater. The panel beater noted that the majority of the scratches on the vehicle were covered up by tippex. The vehicle spent approximately a week at the panel beater.
22/08/2023 - Vehicle starts to give a hill assist start warning (not available). We then took the vehicle back to the dealership to bring it to their attention. The dealership then kept the vehicle for approximately 2 days to re-install the software on the vehicle. When my wife collected the vehicle it gave the exact same warning when she started it at the dealership, she was told to give it 48 hours for the software to clear the warning. My wife persistently called the dealership to notify them that the warning was not going away. The dealership requested us to allow time to establish what the fault was. I called the dealership and on this occasion they noted that there was a bulletin stating that the door lock could be faulty, they requested my wife to bring the vehicle in to check the fault code, they then saw that it was the same fault code as the bulletin and stated that they would order a new lock and notify us when to bring the vehicle in.
26/09/2023 - My wife brought the vehicle in as the new door lock had arrived at the dealership. The door lock was replaced on the same day and the vehicle returned to us. On the occasion of this vehicle being taken to the dealership, they indicated that they would bring in the "Ford Hit Squad" . I then queried what this meant and they said that it was technicians from the factory who would inspect the entire vehicle to ensure that there would not be any further issues.
11/01/2024 - Hill start warning starts again and a new warning stating that adaptive cruise control is now also unavailable. The dealership then takes the vehicle for approximately two days again. They say that the door lock is giving a fault again. They subsequently then installed a new lock, I queried with the workshop manager as to how this would address the issue as the lock had previously been replaced. He then stated that there is a new type of lock that needs to be installed as the old model was giving issues and this would be the last that we experience this type of issue.
09/04/2024 - The vehicle starts to give a reverse brake assist warning which is given in no form of a pattern.
13/04/2024 - I am driving the vehicle, place the car into reverse and it gives a reverse brake assist warning, as we pull away after reversing the speakers give off a harsh sound that hurts all of the occupant's ears in the vehicle. The speakers go dead. There is no sound when the car provides an alert for items such as a safety belt warning. After a few minutes, the vehicle's speakers start to work again, after my wife changes from Android auto to radio. The warning sounds still don't give off any audible warning. Approximately 10 minutes later warning sounds return, however they are completely different from the sound the vehicle has been giving for the past 11 months. On this occasion, the issue is reported to a group representative from CMH and he then subsequently arranges for the Ford Engineer to be present when the vehicle is in. The vehicle was returned to us and it was stated that the problem was traced to one of the side cameras that was out of alignment, the tracking device was also disconnected to establish if that could have been an issue. On this occasion, I personally came to collect the vehicle and sat down with the workshop manager and dealer principal, and stated my dissatisfaction.
21/09/2024 - After conducting our shopping we start the car and a hill start assist warning appears once placing the vehicle into drive and does not go away after trying to switch the car off and on again. There is also a warning for the handbrake as well that it should be manually disengaged.
