Insecure ford staff and vehicles!
When: 1:20 pm, Saturday, 27 April 2019 Where: Makro, Gateway, KZN
After I parked my girlfriend's vehicle(eco sport) and checked that it was locked to prevent jamming we returned after 10min in Makro.
As we walked back to her Ecosport, security guards were crowded around the vehicle staring at two handbags lying underneath the vehicle(see attachment).
When I walked around the vehicle I saw that the driver's door was tampered with and forced open(see attachment).
Luckily nothing was ****** because nothing was lying inside.
Makro said that they will inspect the break-in on their hidden cameras but haven't heard anything back yet as promised.
Thereafter we immediately reported the case to the police.
Ford is investigating a security replacement lock accessory that will only allow access via the remote key fob or a non-standard ultra-high security style “Hykee” mechanical key. The accessory has been developed in Europe and can be retrofitted to Fiesta and EcoSport. Ford will communicate timing and cost with their customers as soon as this accessory becomes available.
Why didn't ford install this new "security lock accessory" before they sold their **** to the market??? Now their customers must pay R1999 for a new door lock replacement until the next break-in takes place. Who makes money???... Ford!
