I had to pay R6655 just to get my car back without being repaired
FORD Heidelberg Gauteng - Dissatisfied service Date 12 January 2018 This is how companies “*******” PENSIONERS and WOMAN in Heidelberg Gauteng. My name is Kathy. I purchased a second hand 1.6 Bantam Bakkie 2008 model in late November 2017 and was told that the starter motor and fuel pump were not working. I towed it home. I purchased a new battery (from Battery Centre), starter motor and fuel pump and put it in. It still would not start. I towed it to a garage and they could also not get it to start either. I was told by them that it was a “Key Code” fault and that I have to take it to FORD. We made a booking, the only available date was 1 week later. The Bakkie stood at the garage during this time. On the scheduled day we towed it to FORD. I was told I had to pay upfront for the “Key Code” (amount of R3,721.51) which I did. After approx. 1 week I phoned to enquire when I could collect the Bakkie. I was told that there was a problem with the wiring and that the machines were not reading the computer box in the Bakkie. I was told by FORD that there was other wiring which interfered with the readings which had to be removed, which they did. It was the tracking systems wiring. I was then told that the computer box in the Bakkie was “faulty” and had to be replaced which would cost approx. R15,000.00. I refused to pay this amount and told them I would come to fetch the Bakkie. FORD had the Bakkie for a period of 5 weeks. Each time I enquired about the progress of the Bakkie I was told “Come in and see”. All I saw was the whole dash board in pieces and wiring everywhere which upset me badly. On the invoice I was billed for an amount of R6,657.60 for 8 hours of work which I was forced to pay in order to get the Bakkie back. I paid and towed the Bakkie home. All I wanted was to get the Bakkie fixed so that I could transfer it into my name and use it. This has still to date not yet been done. What are companies doing to female pensioners today!!! They just take our money with no service at all. The Bakkie is now at home again and nothing has been done / completed. HOWEVER I HAD TO PAY!!! I have now exhausted all my funds and now what? I have to save up again until I have enough money to try again with repairs. The service and attitude I got from FORD is DISGUSTING. I am very upset about having to pay R6657.60 for nothing. (1 days work 5 weeks later and still no results from FORD) Thanks for taking timeout to read about my complaint and experiences Regards Kathy 083- ********** Email **********
