How FORD SA is steeling your money with their Service Plan

How FORD SA is steeling your money with their Service Plan:

To: *** Sent: 30.07.19 10:14:34 Subject: Service Plan - Kuga 2.0 Tdci - CL50265

Good day,

I would like to raise a compliant and request to be reimbursed.

RE: Service Plan. Service Book, Invoice and Inquiry attached.

I booked my Ford Kuga 2.0 Tdci for it's 90 000 km service that was done on 26/07/2019. My Kuga's odometer reading was 90 322 on the day of the service and my previous service was for the 75 000 km done on 18/08/2018. Meaning I was well within my prescribe service requirements of having the vehicle serviced each 15 000 km or within 12 months of the previous service.

On the day of service, I was informed by Mekor Ford Claremont that my Kuga's Service Plan expired on 03/06/2019 and that I'll be liable for the invoice to be paid. I was shocked that no one has informed me before hand of this deadline and I believe that this deadline has no relevance since my service is always planned and booked based on my odometer reading and previous service date.

How can Ford expect their Customers to accept this. We as the Customer do not have access to the Vehicle Service Inquiry which Ford Dealerships have and we should not be expected to do research on that. I would expect Ford to respect the actual fact that I'm owned a service and that I should be reimbursed for my 90 000 km service that was done on 26/07/2019 since it was the final one due in the Service Plan and I kept all my services in time and as prescribed.

I hope I don't have to take this further and that Ford will be fair. My suggestion is that Ford send sms notifications and emails 3 months prior to Service Plan lapses to their Customers or just laps the Service Plan based on the final service due; in this case the 90 000 km due this year before 16/08/2019.

I hope to have an positive response soonest.

Kind regards, Jacques Basson

Good day,

Thank you for your email,

Kindly be advised that your plan on Ford Kuga 2.0L DSL Sport Powershift expired on the 03/06/2019 or 90 000KM.

When a customer purchases a vehicle the Sales Advisor advises when the plan expires and how it works.

Therefore it is the owners responsibility to know when to service the vehicle and when the plan expires.

Unfortunately we won't be able to assist with this concern, it needs to be taken up with your selling and servicing dealerships.

Regards, Customer Care.
