Generating a radio code is far from Ford's "commitment to customer service and satisfaction".

How ***** is it that Ford drivers do not know that their car radios will require a code after replacing the battery? I recently changed the battery on my 2014 Ford Figo and the radio required a "key code". A quick Google search revealed that the said code could be located on the stereo manual or glove box. Here's where it gets tricky for me: 1. My car was ****** a while back and when it was recovered, the manuals were missing. 2. I bought my car second hand and I guess the previous owner must have discarded the sticker in the glove box. I called the dealership I bought the car from (Williams Hunt Midrand) and they told me the Ford will be able to assist. *Sigh* Calling Ford was a waste of talking points and time. I would need to go into the workshop for a new code to be generated AND this will cost me about R420. Sjoe, R420 seems rather too aggressive, though. Ha le sa re R200, daram? What happens next time I need a battery change again, will I need to cough up another R420? For a company that "continues to focus on strengthening its commitment to customer service and satisfaction" (according to your 6 May media release), Ford sure as hell is kind of greedy.
