Gear box failure

We have ford fiesta ecoboost 2016 model that started giving us problem just 5months of buying it, ford says its out of warranty. The car is skipping gears and won't go reverse. We have to pay 55000 out from our pocket to get it fixed and we can't afford. We sitting with a car that is not working but still paying for it.
