*****ulant Ford
I have found that no matter how much you try to right wrongs you experience with Ford or their Franchieses you will not get the right results to resolve the problems. My Ford Ranger 3.2 a 2012 model has had its engine replaced by Ford Newcastle due to heat seizure with a factory "new" one at 200 000 klm. Over charged for the repair quotes. This engine overheated within the guarentee period. Ford Newcastle said it was not interested as it was the EGR at fault. This diagnosis was done by Ford Port Elizabeth who never even looked at the EGR. Quote to repair again was *****ulant so I had it towed to Jefferies Bay where it was repaired. Engineers could find no fault with the EGR but Ford Newcastle was still not interested. The Engineers found the Factory "new" engine was not up to "new' standard. Drove another 10 000klm and the engine overheated again. Had the vehicle lowbedded to Jefferies who redid the engine. Engine overheated 2000 klm later. Had the engine couriered to Jefferies this time who have had discussions with Engineers and Ford South Africa, and belive it or not, FORD SOUTH AFRICA have been aware of this problem and still do not know why their "new" engines have a overheating problem. No assistance from them. So far I have payed R200 000 + to resolve with another R40 000 pending to refit the repaired engine when it comes back. I have tried the Retail Motor Industry who gave up on trying to get a reply from the Newcastle Ford. I have contacted the Motor Industry Ombudsman who has still not responded to me { Corona Virus problems}. So I am moving on to the Consumer Protection Services in the mean time to get a result. During this difficult period I have found that the Ford Dealers to be dishonest in their repair quotes and knowing that the average motorist does not have the energy or financial resouces to carry on trying to get a fair deal and this is evident in that Ford South Africa does not even respond to any of the complaints that hellopeter publishes or the motorists send directly to Ford. SO I am in the process of obtaining sufficient Ford motorists who own Ranger 3.2 2012 - 2014 models who experienced heat siezures to prepare a Class Action Lawsuit against Ford for nowingly supplying Defective engines to clients, so should you be one of them contact me vie hellopeter.
