Ford will get out of their warranty if they can! Be warned.

A word of advice to Ford customers...don't take your vehilce late for its service.....EVER!!!!! They will cancel your warranty. I took my Ranger in for a service 2m 20days late (post the grace period of 2m) for its 40000km service. My Ranger had 35000 kms on it - so 5000 kms early, but just over 2m late. Ford cancelled my warranty. Then they re-ininstated it to 50%. So the 2m 20 days cost me half my warranty. Sounds like Ford just wants to get out of the warranty. I suppose if Ford Kuga is anything to go by, its understandable why they would want to exit a warranty early!

I know that being late was my fault, but as the vehicle was within the KMS, I assumed (wrongly) that I would be fine. Next time, if I am unable to take my vehicle in for a service on time, I will have to make alternative arrangements - as this time I was away and could not take it in when I was meant to.

Anyhow, I think that I will go back to Isuzu, which is the vehicle I had previously. Aftersales service is much better. Just an example of poor Ford service, I sent a request into Ford SA on 20 Dec 2016. Their automated reply stated that someone from Ford would be in contact within 48 hrs. I got a call today...6 Feb 2017 - a month an a half late! I guess its fine for Ford to be late...its only us customers who are not allowed to be late in the least. Well done, Ford - leading by example.

Good luck in the future.
