Ford Umhlanga ***********

I have been a loyal Ford customer for the past 12 years and have experienced nothing but impeccable service, up until now! After my experience with Ford in Umhlanga I am now starting to question the integrity of the company! I am currently driving a 2015 Ford Ranger 2.2 XLS and have absolutely love the vehicle. However I picked up an issue with the aircon unit, whereby once the vehicle has warmed up, after about 20mins or so of driving the aircon unit would switch off completely. When taking it to Ford for its service I was told by Nolan (the service center manager) that they cannot pick up the fault, and then later after them diagnosing it and trying to find “fault” I was told that it’s the aftermarket radio unit etc that I have fitted into the vehicle that is causing the problems. I doubted this because I have had the radio fitted the first week after taking delivery of the vehicle and have never had any issues. I decided to go to an independent testing center for a second opinion. The results confirmed my suspicion…! BOSH Service Center ran full diagnostics on the vehicle and immediately picked that the temperature sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. Ford Umhlanga informed me that the cause of the problem was my aftermarket products, however in fact it was the failure of the ENGINE COOLING TEMP SENSOR and had nothing to do with any aftermarket product. A clear indication that the competency levels at the branch in Umhlanga are questionable. This issue cost me R3329.25 for something that should have discovered by Ford and been covered by my factory warranty! Now I am getting pushed from pillar to post with no one resolving the issue, all I hear from the branch is "we are discussing your issue with Ford and will get back to you..." 4 weeks now and the issue remains unresolved.
