FORD SA/FORD Dealer

We have a 2014 Ford Ranger 2.2 Sup/cab with only 56,200km on, 3 days before the warranty expires the central locking stopped working so we contacted Ford to make an appointment with but we could only get an appointment the next week so then the warranty is not active anymore and now we need to pay for it although the problem occurred while it was still under warranty...Ford is giving us a quote of R8,000 and not even Ford SA is willing to assist with anything, the only response they have is "sorry your warranty has expired but maybe the dealer can give you discount" How about that!!!
