Ford SA Refusing to Pay For the 60 000 Service, Despite Having Reasonable Reason For Missing The Grace Mileage By 19km

My husbands' car was booked in by EC Motors for its 60 000 service. Ford allows for 1000km grace mileage on its service plans - which used to be 1500km and we were not informed of the change, it is simply noted on the invoice for the 45 000km service.

The car was booked in for Tuesday 10 September, but, due to being booked off by the doctor and told to stay in bed and my husband working out of town so he could not take the car himself, we had to reschedule the booking to the next available date, which was Thursday 12 September.

As a result, the mileage on the vehicle exceeded the 1000km grace given by 19km only.

Ford SA is now refusing to pay the for this service, which is for R4320, and will not accept the reasons given. I have been told that if I am not happy then I must go the the Ombudsman, which, I assure you, I will be doing.
