FORD RANGER DOOR LOCK FAULTY

I have a Ford Ranger, 3.2 2013 Manual.

The lock on driver side broke some time ago. I had it replaced at around R3000. To make everything worse, the front passenger lock also broke now and Ford quotes R2600 excluding labour to install.

After doing some research I see so many Ford owners complain about the same problem. After phoning Ford in Goodwood, the service manager assures me that he has never had any complaints or repairs. How can this be?

Does anyone have advice for me regarding this matter? Obviously my 2013 is not under warrenty anymore but surely Ford needed to arrange with owners to bring vehicles in to have it replaced?
