FORD PROTECT - DISAPPOINTMENT
In August 2018 the company I've done some work for purchased a Ford Transit, they got the extended service plan in house, this extended the maintenance plan to 105,000km which was included in their finance agreement - the process of which was absolutely brilliant, the staff at CMH Kempster Ford were and remain to be absolute stars.
Their complaint is in regards to Ford Protect. They did the first service (15,000km) in October 2018, this is when Ford Protect approached them, to further extend this maintenance plan to 120,000km at an additional cost of R296.17 per month on top of what they signed up for in the dealership. They did their 105,000km service on 18/03/2020, unbeknownst to them, this would be the end of the Extended Maintenance Plan with Ford Protect yet the monthly charge continued undeterred. Now, with this charge continuing, they were under the impression that their next service was 120,000km which took place on the 10/06/2020, to their surprise the additional cover they'd been paying for was no more.
The most puzzling bit of this whole f****, is that after the 105,000km service, this policy was for all intents and purposes null and void, though the payment was still charged for the policy for an additional 3 months. Claiming that they are valued customers and then ripping them off, is ******** and unacceptable behaviour, and I am now wondering how many other companies and individuals have been shamelessly ********** as well.
In April 2020, Ford sold 2667 vehicles. How many have an extended maintenance plan? Better yet, how many vehicles are out of their policies, yet still being charged for these policies? These questions warrant an investigation.
