Ford not honoring warantee
Let me start by saying that I own three Ford cars. Therefore can I be considered a Ford enthusiast/supporter? My son took my Ford Focus for a warranty service to Paul Maher Auto, a Ford branch. The seat adjusting handle was faulty and was left loose inside the car. The part disappeared during the service or the car clean up at the dealer. Now the dealership manager (Sebastian) maintains that without the faulty handle he cannot claim from Ford RSA and therefore wants to charge us for its replacement. This is not the first time that items "disappear" from cars left for service. Previously a tablet computer was ****** from the car in Ford's Edenvale branch. We then decided to change branches for this service and expected different results. However it appears that Ford has a big problem hiring people that can be trusted and *****ing or misplacing is a common problem throughout the Ford dealerships. Am I correct? I am used to have all parts replaced during a service being collected and ready to be inspected before disposing of them. The same applies to ANYTHING left in the car. Isn't it the normal practice on all services irrespective of the dealer or car make? Is Ford different in this regard? And then why? I believe that the above faulty part should have been replaced at no cost (R1251.72) as part of the warranty. This is not what happened and my son (with me being away) was told to pay for its replacement. I then wrote to Ford RSA CEO Mr Jeff Nemeth on 23 Jan 18. Obviously no response from him. I got a mail from the customer services telling me that the dealer principal will contact me. When nothing happened I called the Ford customer services and was told (2 Feb 18) that the case was closed, but the dealer principal should still contact me. I lost hope in Ford' CEO and their entire team. Promises, *****ing and bad service is their reality. Beware of the Ford team!
