Ford Kuga Trade Value a joke!

In April 2016 I bought a Demo Ford Kuga 2.0TDCI Titanium for R410 000 (below book). Then the huge media outburst about the Kuga's that's unsafe and catch fire (petrol models). Ford stated that it is ONLY the petrol models that was affected. I endured the jokes and stupid comments people made about my Kuga. I still loved my car and didn't worry about the negative publicity. I never had problems with my car and I enjoyed driving it. NOW, 3 years later with 75 000km, I decided to trade my vehicle for a new car. To my surprise I was told by Ford Tygervalley that they cannot buy back my car....even whilst I wanted to buy a Ford Ranger. I was told my car's value has dropped drastically and they cannot even settle my car's outstanding balance. I was offered R80 000 less than what I owe. So FORD, how can you say that it didn't affect Diesel models...if in fact it did. Not physically, but financially. I am going to lodge a complaint at the National Consumers Commission. Why must I, who was a loyal customer and still believe in the product cough up for a mistake that made petrol KUGA's go up in flames? I don't have R80 000 to pay the balance not covered. You need to come to the party FORD and assist your customers with a buy back option or at least pay half of what is outstanding on the bank balance after trade in!!!!!!!
