Ford Kuga consumpsion incorrect!!

When shopping for car I always due to the fuel price take the vehicle consumption into great consideration together with power etc.
I looked at various car in the process and my final choice was between taking the Ford Kuga 1.5 EcoBoost auto and the Kia Soul 1.6 diesel auto. I have now had my car less the one month and have not been able to get even close to the published consumption of 7.0 l/100km. I general average +/- 12l/100km. IF I am lucky I get 9.8l/100km.

I am very happy with car other wise but honestly think that I should have taken the Kia Soul as the main deciding factor was the boot size based on the face that I was expecting to get about the same consumption based on the information on the FORD Wed site and the fact that it was confirmed by the sales person when I asked the question.

If you are busing a car hoping to get the published consumption...trust me you won't!!! Then you will want to rethink you decision the same way I am doing now!!
