Ford Kuga clutch shudder complaint told its wear and tear caused by driving habits without opening and checking?
Hi I bought a brand new car from a Ford dealership on the South Coast KZN... Dec 2015 to be exact.. I took out an additional 2 service plans, a wear care product and a extra warranty.. To cover anything that can go wrong with my Ford Kuga 1.5 Ambiente... Just to start off my service they wanted to charge me after its service extended When you buy a car had finished and they had not loaded my extra 2 years I paid for... Which had to be loaded and the service was eventually cover. The previous years service I reported that the car took a bit of strain when pulling to which I was told they could not find anything... But this service I was told there is a shudder when pulling off and would cost me in the region of 20k to replace the clutch?? I said the car is under warranty and thar should be covered to which I was told its wear and tear!! To which I responded I have a wear care product but was told it covers only the clutch plate not the whole clutch... I said to them how can they tell me it's wear and tear without even opening to see what is wrong... It all went to Ford SA and I was told it will cost me R4000 to open and look at the clutch.. Bare in mind my car has full service history with agents and not even a full 5 years old and under 90k on the clock... So asked them to send me a letter with the Ford letter head stating the Ford Kuga's fails due to wear and tear under 90k on the clock and they refused and said it's the way people drive the car that causes wear and tear on the clutch... To which I responded in all my years of driving new and second ha ND cars I've bought NEVER have I had any clutch issues... So I gave up as the wear care product is replacing the small things like wiper blades, shocks, and brakes as it's cover by my wear care product... But the issue with the clutch I had enough of arguing and. Left it.. But did homework and there has been issues with other Fords with Same issues and was told 90% of the clients ended up paying for the clutch... I will NEVER buy a Ford product again... Do you feel I have a fair point?
