Ford Ecopsport not worth the money you pay for it.

In early December 2024 my 2020 model Ford Ecosport Automatic suffered major engine failure! This should not happen to a car with 74 000kms on the clock. This car has a full service history. Unfortunately the warranty expired in March 2024. At no point did the service manager ever contact me directly. The car was taken to NMI Ford Bruma an after about 4 or 5 days they thought it was the 3rd Piston that had blown and then presented me with a bill of R150 000.00 to replace the engine! I have subsequently had the car repaired at an independent workshop where they confirmed it was in fact the 3rd piston that had blown. I wonder if I any grounds for a recourse from Ford? Of course, apart from being out of pocket to the amount of R42000.00, my car now worth considerably less. This could have happened whilst in motion, and it could have caused a major accident! Fortunately it happened as I arrived home quite late at night. Quite understandably, my faith in Ford as a company and brand is at an all time low!
