Ford dissipointment and lack of understanding.

Around mid year 2018, my wive and I had planned a round trip from JHB - Upington - Calvinia - Jacobsbay - Harm**** - Baufortwes - Bloemfontein and then back to JHB. We had planned this trip with my wives car as it was bigger and more comfortable to travel in as we took our two dog along with us. As we had prepared to leave on the 22de of December we took my wives car to tiger wheel and tire to check her wheel alignment and found that, a pothole that she hit when on holiday a month before had damaged her front and back left wheel. We lodged a claim with our insurance and they collected the car to be repaired within the first week of Jan 2019 (don't get me started on that process) so with a considerable amount of bad luck and less than a week to do anything with me finishing work and the Km on my car being around 58k. We decided to take my vehicle as we had already paid 80% of our trip in accommodation.

We did our trip and returned home on Jan the 4th 2019. I logged an online request for a service on Monday the 7th Jan 2019 Ford Fourways could assist me on Friday the 11th. This added close to 200km in addition. Upon arrival of my vehicle at Ford I was informed that they would not pay for my service as I was over the allowed Km for a service. I did ask them to point it out for me on the agreement we signed as I was not fully aware that the last service has a different set of rules. I informed them that the car was also making a funny noise and that they should check it out. Trying to be kind and understanding I explained the circumstances around missing the Km requirements on the service as above, but the Ford service department and Ford head office both said that there was nothing that they could do, and was unwilling to assist or give any advise on what could be done.

Now I understand that there are agreements to a contract and one of them is to service within a 1000km or so I'm told, however I did not have control surrounding the circumstances and feel it disappointing that Ford is not understanding in this matter. If there had been any damages to the vehicle that cost more than the normal service due to me being over with a few 100km I would understand, however the vehicle is in exactly the same state as it would of been on its 60 000km. Its also disappointing that Ford would be willing to lose my business due to a technicality on a contract.

In addition to the above Ford had booked my Ford into a warranty repair as the push bearing is packing up, explaining that I would be stuck without transport and with Ford saying it would take a possible 3 days very little was done to try and assist. I am yet to hear anything on the warranty repair or collection of my vehicle and or the service agreement and I'm for nasty surprise cost wise when I do hear anything.

This is a let down.
