Ford disgracefull
Ford Ford Ford Our Ford Figo Trend went in for its 80000km service to Ford Claremont in August 2018 and came back with issues such as air filter not being replaced, spotlights not working that they were told about, a clutch problem which they ignored etc etc. So Stuart Rothon and his fiance Shannon Wannenburgh left Cape Town to join her parents at Sedgefield for New Year. Late afternoon the car breaks down in the middle of now where on the N2, and I mean total shut down, no brakes, power steering nothing. Stuart managed to get it to the side of the road. He let me know and I called Discovery Insure and they were fantastic. They had a Tow Company (who were also very professional and efficient) on the road from Mossel Bay very quickly. The car was about an hour away from Mossel Bay. So the car was taken to Ford in Mossel Bay on Monday (31st Dec). I phoned them on Thurs (2/1/19) to find out what the problem was. I was told that the vehicle is absolutely fine and they had run a whole lot of tests, so was ready to be collected. Stuart goes to collect the Ford on Friday, and asked them if they had replaced the pipe coming from the coolant which Stuart saw had burst on the side of the road. They looked at him with a stunned look on their faces and said they would check. It hadn't been checked and quickly replaced it at a cost of R984, giving me a discount of R516, so I was told! Stuart was told that the car was perfect and safe to get back to Cape Town. 6km outside Mossel Bay the car breaks down again, total shut down. He phones the garage and they towed it back. He had a meeting with the manager of the garage and recorded the whole conversation. Now they said the head gasket is blown and huge damage to the engine. They said they wouldn't charge any labour, no doubt because of their guilt in the matter. The quote is R14000 to repair the damage, that's without labour, so they say. So right now the car is still in Mossel Bay and Stuart is waiting for the Reginal manager to contact him which is supposed to be tomorrow, so they say!
